On Saturday, June 8, Brescia will host the “Festa dell’Opera”, a highly anticipated event in which our city will become the Theater of a unique and evocative musical event.
From dawn to dusk, there will be more than 50 musical events with free access in the most iconic and characteristic places in Brescia, from cultural venues, to cloisters and city squares, passing through churches and innovative art spaces, to some locations in the suburbs.
Performing will be the best Opera artists who, through engaging performances and thanks to the meeting of different musical languages such as jazz, electronic music, rock and contemporary music will ensure that all spectators will have the tools to approach the opera genre, in an atmosphere full of enthusiasm and emotions.
This year’s Festa dell’Opera is dedicated to the centenary anniversary of Giacomo Puccini’s death and the 120th anniversary of his Madama Butterfly, which found its first triumphant success in Brescia in 1904. During the Festival then, and also during the preview on Friday, June 7, there will be celebratory moments of his most famous and performed operas, alongside more rarely performed compositions and curious tales of his connection with Brescia.
An unusual way to experience the city, in a perfect combination of art, culture and entertainment, thanks to which you can discover Brescia and all its wonders!
